About Beat the Betes, Inc.
Beat the Betes, Inc. is a non profit organization dedicated to influencing our community in a positive way! Our goals are to decrease mortality in young adults suffering from diabetes, inspire health and lifestyle improvements in the community, and also provide scholarships to young adults who demonstrate academic excellence.
The vision for Beat the Betes, Inc. was created by Octavia D. Ocean, who passed away February 2014 from the disease at the age of twenty-four. Though Octavia is no longer with us, a host of her family and friends are continuing her vision and legacy.
